MAC addresses can and regularly are removed from packets. Search for MAC spoofing to see how often it happens and for what reasons people resort to this. I can change the MAC address of every device I own at a whim. I have no idea why you think they cannot be changed. visit www.acetecsupport.com/youtube_support.html

All computers communicate using the MAC address. The general public believe that computers use IP addresses to communicate. And that they do, but at a lower place the IP Address lies the MAC address and this is often wherever the true communication takes place.

Sometimes, spoofing MAC address isn't possible

Software licenses that are guaranteed to the initial MAC address look beyond the spoofed MAC address on a back-up network and deny access which is due to the absence of the initial MAC address.

Software-based utilities work solely on Windows-based systems only. Every various software package needs specific technical data to spoof the MAC address.

Cloning of MAC Address - Advantage?

People may thing that there must be some advantage of cloning the MAC address. But, there is no advantage. The only advantage would be to have internet or not. In many cases, it's not necessary to use the MAC address clone. Even If one has an internet connection through your router then there ain't any need to use the MAC address clone function.

The waiting is over, now anyone with SpeedDemon installed can change MAC address of his network card. Not once or twice but unlimited times.

Isn't that sound great? Well, it is. Because few days ago it was impossible to change MAC address and with SpeedDemon it has become possible.
